The most versatile certificate in flight, and what most people mean when they say they want to learn to fly. Day or night, multiple passengers, a wider range of aircraft, and the foundation for every rating after it.
Typically 4–6 months
The shortest, least expensive route to flying as pilot in command — no FAA medical required, just a valid driver’s license. Under the FAA’s 2025 MOSAIC rule it now reaches four-seat aircraft like the Cessna 172.
Private certificate, instrument rating and commercial certificate on one continuous track — the full route to earning a living as an aviator, in the airlines, charter or corporate flying.

Good questions
Instruction is $65 per hour, ground or flight. The Cessna 150 is $135 per hour with fuel included. Together that is $200 per hour for a dual lesson. A private certificate typically runs $11,000–$15,000 depending on pace and proficiency. FAA knowledge and checkride fees are separate.
Most students finish in 4–6 months, depending on schedule flexibility and weather. Training includes a minimum of 40 flight hours, ground instruction, and the FAA written and practical exams. Students who fly two or three times a week finish faster and spend less overall.
No. Plenty of students start well into their 50s. Only the airlines have a mandatory retirement age of 65 — corporate, charter and flight instruction careers have no age ceiling at all.
For the Private and Professional pathways, yes — a 3rd Class medical, and we will recommend a local aviation medical examiner. The Sport Pilot pathway needs no FAA medical; a valid driver’s license is enough.
Yes. You must first be approved through the TSA’s Flight Training Security Program, which takes up to 60 days. TWO2FLY AVIATION is approved to offer training under that program.
Yes — that is the main reason we run Part 61 rather than a fixed Part 141 syllabus. Our instructors include both full-time and part-time CFIs, and enrolled students self-schedule up to 21 days in advance, including evenings and weekends.
